Soon you may notice small identification tags appearing on several trees in our neighborhood park. We’ll be tagging 10 different trees, each chosen to highlight the variety of species that quietly shape this shared space.
The tags will include basic information such as the tree’s common name and species, offering a simple way to learn more about the living canopy above our heads. Think of it as a low-key field guide, rooted right where you’re standing.
This project is part of an ongoing effort to celebrate, understand, and care for our urban forest. Trees work steadily in the background, cooling our summers, sheltering wildlife, and marking the seasons in leaf and bark. These tags are a small invitation to pause, look closer, and get acquainted.
Next time you’re walking the path or sitting on a bench, take a moment to meet a tree by name. 🌲
